Forest Explorers - Exploring Frogspawn and Pond Dipping!

We made some nets using strong tape, sticks and the small nets that we found in the water area.

We were so excited!

When we reached the pond we made sure we stayed behind the cones.

We walked around the pond, exploring the wildlife. We saw insects and lots of frogspawn. We couldn't find any frogs, they must have been hiding from us.

We took turns using the nets to catch the frogspawn. They were heavy, we had to use our muscles!

We had to be very careful to put the frogspawn in the bucket without spilling it. We made sure we didn't spill any on to the grass.

When the frogspawn was in the bucket we could have a good look at it. There was hundreds and hundreds of frogspawn. We noticed the little black dots were moving. Mrs Hall and Miss Jones explained how the frogspawn was going to change into tadpoles and then into a frogs. We asked if we could take some back to class to watch it change! Mr Watson told us he would find us a tank to keep the frogspawn safe. We couldn't wait to watch it change into tadpoles and frogs! We kept the pond water in the bucket to make sure the frogspawn could move around and stay healthy. We took the bucket back to class. We are so excited to watch the changes! I wonder what will happen next?
