What does reading look like at Greenfield?

In EYFS and KS1 our children do Read Write Inc. Further information can be found here.

In kS1 and KS2, children take part in daily Whole Class Reading sessions which are led by the class teacher. 

We promote a love of reading through appealing reading areas within classrooms and we have a well stocked library which we restock with pupil request where possible.  Through the year we have fun reading focused days but more importantly, we foster a love of reading every day. Our beautiful new library and classroom reading areas are well stocked with appealing books which capture children's imagination. 

Each teacher reads a class novel to their class at some point in the day to further develop a love of reading.
