We had a great time in the forest with our families. We showed our families how we get to the forest, through the gates, on the footpath and down the steps. We practised different ways of moving, running, pretending to fly like the Owl and taking giant steps like the Gruffalo. We went past the chickens and looked for the crocodile in the pond, but it was frozen.
In the forest we went on a Gruffalo hunt, looking for the different Characters from the Gruffalo story. We found Little Brown Mouse just inside the gate, Fox was hiding behind the trees near his underground house, Owl was resting in his tree top house and Snake has slithered to the top of the bank looking for his log pile house.
We found the Gruffalo too, he was very tall, taller than all the children. He had terrible tusks and terrible claws, terrible teeth and terrible claws. He had knobbly knees, and turned out toes and a poisonous wart at the end of his nose. He eyes were orange, his tongue was black, and he had purple prickles all over his back.
Look at us exploring the forest, looking for the characters.
Some of us went on the mud slide, it was very wet and slippery. It took great determination and persistence to reach the top!
