Listening Walk

We listened to the Listening walk story before we went to the forest so we knew we were listening for sounds on our way and in the forest. We heard the vehicles moving on the road, the gate open, footsteps on the path, our waterproofs rustling and the grass moving over our boots. We heard birds in the trees and aeroplanes in the sky. 

On the field we listened for the whistle; when we heard it we had to stop and come back. We are great at listening! 

We explored the forest together listening for sounds and learning the safety rules. 

We enjoyed swinging too!

We got muddy hands, but we washed them before sitting around the Fire Pit for our snack. We are learning to step over the bench when we sit down and to stay on the bench so we are safe. 

There was water on the Fire Pit roof, listen as we count to 10 and the water pours off and splashes on the ground... 

We went on the mud slide, climbing  up and sliding down. We took it in turns and listened to the sounds we made as we slid along the ground and through the grass.

We made sounds in the Mud Kitchen, jumping in muddy puddles, rolling the tubes and striking the tyres with sticks!

In the afternoon we picked some apples to take back to nursery.
