We were so excited to visit the Chicken stop.
We put our high-vis jackets on and Mr Watson was ready to help us cross the roads.
The year six helpers came along to help us stay safe.
They held our hands all the way!
We were so excited to start cooking!
Mr Tilki had prepared everything ready for our visit.
Mr Tilki had already cut the chicken into small pieces.
He showed us how to dip the chicken into the coating.
The coating is made from egg, salt and pepper.
When the chicken was covered with the egg, salt and pepper, it was time to put the top coating on.
Ask your child if they can remember which ingredients Mr Tilki put on the top of the children, ready for it to be fried.
When the chicken had been coated, Mr Tilki placed it on to the sectioned grills ready for the fryers.
Joseph really wanted to save one for his Dad!
Mr Tilki showed us how the fryers worked. They were very complicated! We watched the timer count down very carefully!
We counted down from 10 seconds and waited for the loud buzzer to ring! Finally the chicken was cooked.
"It's brown" said Davey as he noticed how the chicken had changed in colour when it was cooked.
It was time to cook the chips. Again, we noticed how the chips changed in colour from yellow to brown.
Finally it was time to box up our meal.
Mr Tilki had plenty of helpers.
As we passed him the boxes we counted them.
We would all like to say a massive thank you to Mr Tilki for having us.
We learnt so much and the chicken and chips were delicious!
