We organised a visit to Hoyland library. We were so excited because some of us had never been before. We zipped our coats up and put our high visibility jackets on. "Why do we need these?" asked Alysha. "To make sure all the cars can see us when we walk to the library. They are to keep us safe!" said Mrs Little.
Some Year 6 children helped us to walk safely to the library. They held our hands and made sure we stayed on the pavement.
Mr Watson lead the way for us. He safely stopped the cars for us to cross. We gave the drivers a wave as we crossed and we said "Thank you!"
We saw lots of different things along the way. "Look at the big digger" said Davey. "Look at the Christmas trees" said Georgina. "It's Christmas!" said Joseph.
We talked about the different shops we visit when we go to Hoyland and what we buy there. "I go there" said Scarlett. "We're here" said Rex as we spotted the library.
We sat beautifully as the librarian read the story called "Whiffy Wilson" to us.
The story was all about a character called Whiffy Wilson. We found out that he didn't want to go to school. When the librarian asked us if we like going to school we all shouted "YES!"
Finally, the librarians kindly organised a "designing our own Christmas cards" activity. We loved it!
Thank you Hoyland Library. We had a great time. Why don't you give it a visit too!
